DEFINITIONS: MIDDLE EAST – UAE /mainly Dubai and Abu Dhabi, very rarely Sharjah, none of the other 4 Emirates;Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman. HOTEL STAFF – mainly waitresses, receptionists, hostesses. All other positions available, but not in large,numbers and not for every hotel. WORK CONDITIONS: Minimum salary $ 500 - $550, TAX FREE. Salary might be increased after 6 months of service BASED ON THE PERFORMANCE OF THE WORKER
_ 2-years contract, renewable. If the employee wants to terminate her/his contract before 6 months, she/he has to cover the expenses for visa and ticket /appr. $ 3500/ - Free employment visa - VISA IS NON-TRANSFERABLE to another employer – it allows the, candidate to work only for this company. _ Free transportation to and from work _ Free meals on duty. Meals are provided in the staff cafeteria on a block-table, for all employees._ Free shared accommodation. Males and females live separately. Normally girls live in 2 or 3- bedroom apartments, 2 or 3 girls in each room. Every apartment is equipped with a kitchen and abathroom. ALL WORKERS are expected to clean their own room, as well as the common areas. Normallyemployers try to keep the girls from one nationality together, but if this is not possible girls may be required to share a room with somebody from another European country or Asia. Working rights – ALL WORKERS HAVE THE SAME RIGHTS AS THE LOCALS. WORK ENVIRONMENT in the Middle East is MULTINATIONAL – all workers are expected to respect other nationalities’ way of life and traditions. RACIAL OR RELIGIOS DISCRIMINATION IS NOT ALLOWED. Middle East is extremely safe – domestic crime is close to nothing, free bahaviour is no tolerated, GIRLS CAN NOT BE FORCED TO DO ANYTHING IF THEY DO NOT WANT TO _ Free return ticket every two years. If the employee wants to travel to her home country during her paid holiday after the first year, she has to pay for the ticket. _ 18-22 days paid leave annually. _ Working hours – 9 a day inclusive of a lunch break, NON-CONSECUTIVE AND IN SHIFTS, 6 days a week. As hotels have many different outlets waitresses may be required to work for example 4 hours in the morning serving breakfast, and 4 hours in the evening in the bar. All waitresses are rotated to work different shifts and in different outlets. _ Shared tips. In most cases all tips in the outlet are collected in one box, and then are shared between all workers in the outlet. The reason is the ensure that people who do not take money direct from the clients /like hostesses, bartenders, cooks, etc./, will also get tips, as they work as much as the others All work conditions are as per the Labour law and do not change from employer to employer. Only salary may vary according to the position and the employer. If anything else is different it will be included in the contract /for example sales ladies do not get free food, but get food allowance on top of their basic salaries/. SELECTION PROCEDURE To work effectively we need a database of CVs + pictures in the first place. Please collect CVs for all different positions, but make sure that the applicants know that we can place waitresses, hostesses and receptionists very quickly, but for the other positions it might take longer, unless we have a current vacancy. DO NOT include the contact information of the candidate in the CV. Please reveal the offer letter at the end of this file – it is pretty much the same for every hotel. Please make sure ALL candidates have read and accepted the terms and conditions as stipulated in that offer BEFORE sending their CVs to us. 1. We receive the CVs of potential applicants. We will reveal them and make sure pictures and informations OK. If we miss something we will ask you to provide it. The more CVs we receive at the same time, the easier to place them!
 2. CVs are sent out to a potential employer. Most of our employers will select the waitresses and hostesses from the CVs only. It will take about a week to receive the offer letter of the approved candidates. Please note that we DO NOT inform unsuccessful candidates, but we immediately send their CVs to a different employer. So one candidate may get a job offer within a week, and another may have to wait longer, until she/he is approved. For the other positions the employer may request an interview. If the employer is a soon-to-open hotel or restaurant and needs many people he would normally come for a face-to-face interview with the candidates. If he does not need many people he will ask for a telephone or a skype interview. In such cases it is up to you to decide if you will give the personal telephones/skype names of the candidates, or/RECCOMMENDED/ you will invite them to your office and ask the employer to use your office telephone numbers or skype. Again it will take about a week to receive the offer letters of the selected candidates. The ones who are not approved are again sent out to a different employer and we do this until we finally place each and every candidate.
3. We receive a job offer. Every approved candidate is required to sign her/his offer and pay the fee at THIS POINT. As all candidates should have been informed in advance about the job conditions and fees, signed job offer should be returned to the employer within a week, together with the passport copy and all other papers /if required/. Fees are kept in your office until we provide employment visa and ticket, and are NON-REFUNDABLE if the candidate signs the offer, but refuses to fly FOR ANY REASON /including sickness/. Visa and ticket cost about $ 3500, so if the employer starts the procedure and the worker does not come, he would request a refund for this money, and the fee would cover at least partially the refund we have to give.
4. Visa takes about a month to 45 days, and after it is ready the employer organizes the flight. Visa is send by e-mail or fax, original is deposited at the airport and should be picked up by the worker upon arrival. The employer will normally inform the candidate about the flight date at least 10-15 days in advance, however sometimes the employee may be requested to fly within a couple of days.
5. When the employee arrives she/he is met at the airport by a representative of the employer and taken to the accommodation. Some hotels use TEMPORARY accommodation for the new employees – only for a couple of days, until they start work and are allocated to the permanent accommodation. Orientation and training are to follow according to the company’s policy.

1. CV - For each applicant we need a CV with a white-background passport size picture. CVs should describe the real experience of the candidate, even if she/he has never worked in the hospitality industry, or does not speak any English. Some employers do require relevant experience, but not all. All employers train the workers up to their own standards, so they might not require previous experience.
2. Full-size picture - Please make sure that all full-size pictures are presentable and appropriate – pictures from parties or from the seaside in bathing suites, or with very short skirts and very low necks will not be accepted and such candidates WILL NOT be sent to the employers.
3. Full-colour scanned passport copy, valid for at least 1 year – to be presented together with signed offer letter
4. Medical certificate – ONLY if required by the employer - to be presented together with signed offer letter
5. Diplomas and certificates for qualification – ONLY if required by the employer - to be presented together with signed offer letter
